If you live in Hawaii and would like to vote for Bernie Sanders, it’s easy to participate in the Democratic Party of Hawaii’ 2016 Caucus and Presidential Poll. Here’s what you need to know.
To vote in the caucus there are two requirements. You need to be a registered voter, and you need to be a member of the Democratic Party of Hawaii. If this is your first Caucus or you’ve moved since the last election, you will need to fill out the online registration forms to be eligible.
The Caucus is Saturday, March 26 at 1 oclock PM and will be held at a location near you. A caucus is just a meeting where people vote in person.
At the Caucus you’ll first vote on your choice for President. I hope you’ll support Senator Bernie Sanders.
After the Presidential Preference Poll is complete, you’ll have a chance to help elect delegates to the state party convention, and to vote on precinct leaders. This is the first step in our political reveolution. We need to not only elect Bernie Sanders President, but to make sure our Democratic Party infrastructure starts to feel the bern as well. Please consider running as a delegate or precinct officer, and supporting your fellow Bernie supporters who run for these positions at the cuacus.
A few tips for the Caucus – parking can be an issue, so please try to carpool and arrive early. If you have friends and neighbors who support Bernie, please share this video and invite them to attend. And make sure you dress appropriately in your finest Bernie Sanders T-shirt.
